Emerging Research Shaping the Future of Coatings

Connecting academic insight with industry expertise at the ACS 2026 Poster Session

Join the ACS 2026 Poster Session and Networking Reception, where a diverse, international group of students presents current work across the paints and coatings research. This article features selected statements from poster presenters, offering insight into their motivation to contribute, exchange ideas, and engage directly with the coatings community. The session itself provides a relaxed setting for in-depth technical discussion, critical feedback, and connections that extend well beyond the poster boards.

“I am presenting my results and achievements at ACS 2026 because these conferences gather many professional scientists working on industrial projects, and their feedback always helps me identify the next steps in my research. I look forward to sharing my work and engaging with the coatings community.”

“I chose to present at ACS because it provides a rare space where academic ideas are openly tested against industrial realities. The Poster Session encourages healthy, technical disagreement rather than passive agreement. I value these exchanges because they sharpen how research problems are framed and translated into practice.”

“I chose to present my work at ACS 2026 to share a technically driven evaluation of a bio-based, low-VOC wood stain formulated from mahogany bark extract and benchmarked against a commercial system. The Poster Session provides an ideal platform to discuss formulation design, rheology, VOC reduction, coating–substrate interactions, and topcoat compatibility with experts from both industry and academia, and through this exchange, I aim to refine the technical performance and scalability of natural dye–based coatings for practical wood finishing applications.”

“I chose to present my work at the ACS because it brings together leading experts from academia and industry in coatings field. The poster season provides a valuable opportunity to discuss my research and receive direct feedback from the community, who works in the field. I hope to gain new perspectives and build connections that will help guide my future research.”
